Gov. Hickenlooper had originally started this in Denver, and then he brought it to Fort Collins. Homeless Gear turned it into the amazing program One Village One Family, and Loveland's Conversations on Homelessness brought One Community One Family to Loveland!

Our Mission:

The mission of One Community One Family is Partnering with families, individuals, and unaccompanied youth moving through homelessness to strengthen life skills and achieve safe, sustainable housing.

Our Vision:
The vision of One Community One Family is to live in a community where everyone is housed and thriving in their environment.

This program is designed to assist participants struggling through homelessness.

The three main components to the OCOF Program are . . .

The participants that we assist may be a family, individual, or an unaccompanied youth. They will not have a current lease (literally homeless), must pass a nationwide background check, and have a combination of stable income from employment or other sources. The participant commits to participating in the program for 6 months.

The community is a team of people that can be made up from congregations, neighborhoods, businesses, friends, or strangers. Even if you do not have a team together and want to participate, just let us know. Volunteers will need to compete a CBI background check and participate in a training session that lasts from 2-3 hours. The community’s only financial obligation for the participant is fundraising for the cost of move-in expenses that the participant will incur once housing is secured.

The liaisons are people that are involved with OCOF, but are not part of the community team, however, they support the community with any challenges that arise, and can assist them in locating resources in the Loveland/Fort Collins and Larimer/Weld County areas. They will be the ones that the Team Lead will update on how the participant is progressing on their goals, and any problems that occur.
